I began playing with GarageBand at the start of the pandemic. Originally, I just wanted the ability to record acoustic music and lay vocal tracks separately. Then I realized I could make music electronically. Before long, I took my love of reading poetry aloud and began arranging electronic loops around it. It seems so obvious in hindsight, but I realized I could design the music to accentuate certain words and lines. The project took off and I began working with close friends who are poets, including their work alongside mine.
